My son is over the moon about his Lord Voldemort costume [...] for Halloween and the release of Harry Potter 7a. While the mask doesn't breathe all that well, it IS plastic - what did you expect? We have found a terry cloth headband under the mask helps it stay in place & absorbs extra sweat.
