This sign looks great! We hung it outside our front door for our Halloween Party and it was a big hit! We went as the shower scene from the original Psycho and Norman Bates dressed as "mother" for the party and this tied in nicely with our "theme". Very fun and realistic! Thanks!

After reading that it's best not to use this product outside, I decided to buy it and display it in my apartment window. It's bigger than I expected (pro), but also a little dim (con). However, people 20 feet away can read it and it's WAY cheaper than trying to custom make a similar sign that would be brighter. People have commented that it's flimsy, but for the price, the durability is just fine. The day I put it up I took pictures of my apartment window displays and got complimented in the parking lot for them.

Whenever I add another piece to my halloween collection, I remind myself that what goes up, must come down. After purchasing the shower curtain last year, it was a no-brainer that I had to have the Bates Motel sign. This will be the perfect compliment to the psycho shower scene, a HUGE hit last year. Thanks spirit -- we are kindred!

we really deck our house out for Halloween and as soon as I saw this I knew we had to have it! the only con about is it that it's pretty flimsy plastic and has a cardboard backing. I'm a little leery that it will crush or tear if not stored properly. it looks fantastic lit up and is very bright, "vacancy" even appears to flicker slightly.

Even though another review said that this product was made of plastic and a bit delicate because of it, I was surprised at just how plastic-y it actually is. While I'm not sure what else I was expecting, I suppose I can say that I expected a little more authenticity. Something a little weightier (even though the specs are right there...) HOWEVER I am still pleased with the product. Besides, it's going to hang in a dark hallway during my halloween party--no one's going to be inspecting its quality, and the plastic chain on it will hardly be visible. Overall, as a Psycho fan, I'm happy to have this & "Bate's Motel" is eerie even in plastic.

I have had this for over 10 years and it is still working fine. It is pretty delicate so you have to be careful when storing it. The thing is made of very lightweight plastic and could easily get damages if not stored properly.
