Comments: Will be part of my son's Halloween costume. However it broke already and I had to glue it, but hopefully it will be fine now. |

Best Uses Comments: I'm a dad and definitely increased my coolness factor with my son on this purchase ;) I bought this item yesterday (10/01/10) here locally. My son is 6 years old. Let's get the negative out of the way- The picture on the website is the same picture that's on the product packaging and it's slightly misleading: The blades of the swords are black, not silver- as are the decorative caps on the very bottom of the sheaths, but my son could care less! On a positive note, the blades are not flimsy and are actually nice hard plastic and appear quite durable. He loves this product and it REALLY intensifies the whole look of his Special Ops Ninja costume! I'm not usually one to splurge on all the accessories for 1 day of fun, but this product is definitely worth the extra expense it's currently selling for. For an adult, as pictured in the advertising, the adjustable straps will adjust enough to be worn backpack style. For my son, I opted to criss-cross the straps across his chest to ensure the straps didn't slide off his shoulders and it worked perfectly. The straps and clip-in (parachute style) buckles are of great quality. The rings used to attach the straps to the sheaths are metal and adequate, but the area on the sheaths where those rings attach could use a little more/thicker plastic support in my opinion. While wearing the product, smaller children ages 5-8 will have a difficult time pulling the swords out of the sheaths in one fluid motion depending on their arms length. Additionally, putting them back in will prove just as difficult, but this should NOT deter you from purchasing this product! My son is just ecstatic about these swords and sees them as absolutely perfect! He would probably give them 10 out of 5 stars. I chose 4 out of 5 only because of the slightly misleading nature of the pictures advertising the product. If not for that- I would have given 5/5. |
