we used him outside and had to way him down with bricks otherwise he would have fallen over. he's very light weight and alittle smaller than what i was expecting but other than that he works great. with the remote we can choose the perfect time to scare the kids coming up the driveway.

Intermittent rise with remote

Comments:

This prop was easy to assemble and we were surprised by the remote control. The remote however, wasn't very reliable when we attempted to use it. I was literally standing next to the prop with the antennaes touching and it didn't activate. I was able to overcome this problem by tapping the prop and when he went off he set off my flying reaper...lol.

4.0

Pros

  • Pops up quickscares well

Cons

  • Remote didn't work

Best Uses

  • On stable ground

Comments:

really scared people because it really POPS up and the eyes lights up well, however, our remote didn't work (never bought the foot pedal)Maybe spirit will send me one for FREE!) so it was dependent on sensor to operate (every time a fire works went off, up it would pop)

A lot of fun! Good value for the money

4.0

Pros

  • Unique
  • Attractive Design
  • Bright

Cons

  • A little too bouncy
  • Really needs flat ground

Best Uses

  • Outdoors
  • Graveyard
  • Parties

Comments:

Great for a kids (tweens) party. He's kind of bouncy on the way up and tends to teeter a bit. If you're using it outdoors it really needs to be on flat ground or it will topple over. As it isn't Halloween yet and I've just bought it, I don't know how durable it actually is. I'll find out after my party. I would recommend it so far.

Used in outdoor Halloween cemetery. Viewers are shocked by its unexpected "snap to attention" from a horizontal position and loud scarey screams and phrases. Gets them every time.

Great for scaring people.

Cons

  • Delicate

Best Uses

Comments:

This is a really great effect for scaring people. I put it in a life size body bag to increase the effect. It is delicate. The one I bought was the display version at a local store (yes, it was still very much in 1 piece), so the tabs or whatever they are that lock the tubes to each other were broken off so mine is duct taped every year. The tricky thing about using this thing is the timing. It is awesome for scaring people, but you have to time it right. If you watch the video at the top of the item page, you'll notice that it makes a loud growling noise (or whatever that is) and lights up BEFORE it springs up. This can cause a serious problem: if you're using the remote and don't time it right, you can really spoil the element of surprise, which is what this relies on to scare people. If you don't time it right, people will hear the growl sound and see it way too soon so when it springs up, no one really gets scared. I learned that from using it last year. My new method this year is to place it so that people walk past it and THEN I activate it. People hear the growl and they whirl around, all confused. As soon as they see the lights, it springs up at them and scares them like crazy. Anyway, it does need to be weighed down. Use the included sandbags, bricks, duct tape, whatever. It's a very good scare effect at a pretty good price.

Comments:

Love this item, been using it in my Graveyard for 3 yrs now with no problems. The only thing ,the base is too light,so I took a peice of 2x8 lumber and screwed the base to the lumber and works great. If your gonna use it outside remember it's not designed as an outdoor product,so if it gets wet.I would not hesitate to recommend it or purchase another.Your trick or treaters will love it.

Graveyard "Wow" factor

5.0

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Bright
  • Unique
  • Durable

Cons

  • Needs counter weights

Best Uses

  • Outdoors

Comments:

Graveyard clouded by a fog machine; I place him in the front row center nearest the sidewalk to suprise tick-or-treaters. Use heavy counterweights to hold him in place. I use several other animatronics at various locations and angles for a "gauntlet" effect as guests navigate thru the graveyard - but this one is my favorite.

bought it this year and put it together as soon as I could. It was great. moves well and makes good noises. The one problem, I had was it was a bit wobely. It came with a stabelizer you put on the moter.I took my drill and made two holes in the stabelizer. Then I put two pegs in it. It worked really well I recommend you try it!!
